The Change of Renal Tubular Injury and The Expression of Proliferating Cell Nuclear Antigen at Acute and Chronic Period of Mice Model of Renal Ischemia Reperfusion
Background
• Renal ischemia reperfusion is the main contributor of acute kidney injury. The tubular injury due to ischemia reperfusion leads to tubular cells proliferation and initiate the process of repair. The alteration of tubular injury and tubular cells proliferation is important for knowing the progressivity to chronic disease and preventing the maladaptive repair.
Objective
• To know the alteration of tubular injury and cells proliferation in acute and chronic period.
Method
• Fifteen male mice (3-4 months old) underwent bilateral pedicles clamping for 30 minutes. There are 3 groups : SO(n=5), IE1(n=5), IR12(n=5). Tubular injury score was assessed by PAS staining and cells proliferation were assessed by PCNA. The data is analyzed statistically using One Way ANOVA test (p < 0,05).
Result
• The alteration of tubular injury and cells proliferation was present after ischemia reperfusion induction. Significant differences were found between ischemia reperfusion variables and SO (p < 0,05).
Conclusion
• After induced by ischemia reperfusion, the tubular injury score increases and cells proliferate rapidly. In chronic period, the repair mechanism occurs hence the tubular injury score and cells proliferation decrease.
